Cronulla Sharks five-eighth Braydon Trindall is likely to be fit for the first week of the NRL finals series after dislocating his shoulder two weeks ago, which had raised concerns he might be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Fortunately, it appears there is no long-term issue, as reported by News Corp, and Trindall is making good progress, having been seen at Sharks training performing light duties comfortably.
The injury occurred in the early moments of the match against the Raiders in Round 24 when Trindall grubbered the ball, resulting in a spill that caused the dislocation.
He was quickly assisted off the field and found relief when the shoulder was easily repositioned in the locker room, though his team lost a critical match during his absence.
Subsequent scans confirmed that no other structural damage was present aside from the dislocation, prompting the club to initiate immediate rehabilitation to ensure his return before the season concludes.
His potential comeback is a significant boost for the Sharks, who are pursuing their first title in a decade.
This season, Trindall has excelled as a playmaker and established a powerful partnership on the left flank with William Kennedy and KL Iro prior to his injury.
Notably, he leads the league in try assists, amassing 30 assists in 21 games this year, despite missing the last two matches.
For the Sharks to advance deep into the finals, securing Trindall's return will be crucial as they aim to finish in the fourth or fifth position.
