Michael Maguire, the coach of the Brisbane Broncos, has addressed the situation with star player Reece Walsh concerning his social media activity involving captain Adam Reynolds' sudden retirement.
Reynolds announced his retirement on Monday and will miss the rest of the season.
Earlier that same day, Reynolds expressed optimism about his fitness and intended to play this weekend but did not convince Maguire and the coaching staff that he had recovered from his calf issue.
The next day, Reynolds stated it was his decision to skip the final two games of his career.
Walsh found himself in a tricky spot after he was seen liking a post that criticized the choice for Reynolds not to participate in those last games.
This raised eyebrows, especially since Broncos player Martin Taupau was dismissed last May for inadvertently liking a post that criticized Maguire's training methods.
Walsh has since unliked the post, and Maguire shared that he and the fullback sorted out their differences regarding the matter.
"I spoke to Reece this morning. We went through it. Two different scenarios (Walsh and Maguire incidents)," Maguire commented.
"I understand that there's a 'like' there on social media, but we've had that conversation and he realises that social media moves very quickly."
