The Courier Mail reports Tom Dearden could earn as much as $1.8 million a season in 2028 if the NRL salary cap rises to $15 million.
The cap could increase from $12 million under the new television broadcast deal, and Dearden's contract reportedly guarantees him 12 per cent of the Cowboys' cap.
Leaving before that clause takes effect could cost him a substantial payday.
Dearden has also rejected speculation that he might join the Roosters in a swap for Sam Walker, saying he will stay with North Queensland through 2029.
Speaking in Kangaroos camp, he said:
"Nothing has changed from what I have said in the few interviews now.
I am not going anywhere.
I am at the Cowboys.
I know there is a fair bit of speculation, it's a bit of a circus coming up to November 1 for a lot players…I am not going anywhere,"
Walker's contract talks with the Roosters broke down after claims the club was being "mucked" around.
He had been expected to sign a major extension, but reports say he may seek another club when his contract expires after the 2027 season.
Dearden also said his partner, Millie Oliver, would move to Townsville as planned: "We've been very clear, she is coming up to Townsville. None of that has changed," he added. "You can sort of understand the speculation, Millie being down in Sydney…"
Dearden is set to partner Cameron Munster against the Cook Islands in the World Cup semi-final, with captain Isaah Yeo suggesting the side would be close to full strength.
