Penrith re-sign Ale and Going

Penrith Panthers confirm double contract extension for 2027

The departures of Scott Sorensen and Liam Henry to the Perth Bears may create more opportunities for Tom Ale and Kalani Going at Penrith in 2027.

Penrith have re-signed the pair, who joined from the New Zealand Warriors for 2026.

They were on the fringe of the first-grade side as Penrith reached the preliminary final, falling short of a sixth grand final in seven seasons.

Both also helped Penrith win the NSW Cup.

Going debuted in Round 1, captained the NSW Cup side and made several first-grade appearances.

Ale had 41 Warriors appearances but made no first-grade appearance at Penrith, following a similar issue in his final season in Auckland.

Instead, the forward played 20 NSW Cup games and scored six tries.

"We're delighted to have Kalani and Tom locked in at Panthers," said Penrith general manager of rugby league Shane Elford.

Elford added: "Both have brought leadership, experience and quality to the club, and we look forward to their contributions in 2027."
