Top FIVE possible stand-ins for injured Lomax

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

News broke on Wednesday that Eels, Origin, and Kangaroos winger Zac Lomax may miss Origin due to a six-week injury.

This puts his chances in doubt for the series opener on May 28th.

If fully fit, Lomax would likely retain his spot, but that seems unlikely now.

Brian To'o and Latrell Mitchell are assumed to be fit and selected, with Stephen Crichton also likely in the mix.

This leaves the top five potential replacements for Lomax come Origin time.

One potential replacement is Campbell Graham from the Rabbitohs, who has been in standout form this season.

Another option is Mikaele Ravalawa from the Dragons, who has been impressing with his speed and strength.

Both players could provide the attacking spark needed on the wing.

Shaun Johnson from the Sharks is another option, bringing experience and playmaking ability to the position.

While not a traditional winger, Johnson's skill and vision could be a valuable asset for the team.

Jesse Ramien from the Sharks is also a strong contender, known for his powerful runs and solid defense.

Ramien's physicality could add a different dimension to the team's backline.

Nick Cotric from the Bulldogs rounds out the list of potential replacements.

Despite a slow start to the season, Cotric has shown his talent in previous years and could be given the opportunity to shine on the Origin stage.

Overall, the loss of Lomax is a blow for the team, but there are several promising options to fill his position.

With To'o, Mitchell, and Crichton likely locks for the team, the competition for the remaining wing spot will be fierce.

It remains to be seen which player will step up and seize the opportunity to represent their state in Origin.
