Titans Pursue Loan for Storm Halfback

The Gold Coast Titans have said goodbye to their retiring halfback, Kieran Foran, and are now focusing on their halves combinations for the 2026 season.

Although many fans anticipate Jayden Campbell and AJ Brimson to fill the No. 6 and No. 7 jerseys, the Titans are reportedly exploring the option of bringing in a new talent for the coming season.

Jonah Pezet, the halfback from Melbourne Storm, has surfaced as a potential candidate for the Titans under new coach Josh Hannay, although the arrangement might only be for a single season.

As noted by the Sydney Morning Herald, Hannay is interested in securing Pezet's expertise, hoping he can take on a comprehensive game management role for the team.

Pezet currently finds himself behind star players Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes at Melbourne, yet his readiness for the NRL is widely recognized.

In order to accommodate Pezet, the Titans would need to create additional cap space. However, with players like Reagen Campbell-Gillard, Alofiana Khan-Pereira, and David Fifita potentially leaving the team, the Titans may have the opportunity to sign him for a year.

If a deal materializes, both the Titans and Storm will need to address certain conflicts, such as whether Pezet would be permitted to compete against Melbourne and if he could return early should the Storm face injury challenges.
