In a heartbreaking setback for the Titans and Maroons, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui has been ruled out for the rest of the NRL season after a crushing injury blow.

The Gold Coast Titans captain, known for his enforcer role on the field, will miss the remainder of the season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee.

The devastating news was confirmed after scans revealed the extent of Fa'asuamaleaui's injury sustained during the Round 3 clash against the Bulldogs.

The 24-year-old forward will now face a period of rehabilitation with the club's medical staff.

Fa'asuamaleaui, who left the field in the 62nd minute of the Titans' 32-0 loss to the Bulldogs, was sent for scans following the match.

Post-game, the new Titans coach, Des Hasler, refrained from speculating on the nature of the injury, highlighting the uncertainties of the tough and unpredictable nature of Rugby League.

This injury blow serves as a reminder of the challenges and unpredictable nature of professional sports, where players must overcome adversity and setbacks to ultimately triumph in the face of adversity.

Fa'asuamaleaui's absence will leave a significant void in the Titans' lineup, but the team will need to rally together and find strength in their unity to push through the tough times and come out stronger on the other side.
