James Tedesco won the Clive Churchill Medal after the Sydney Roosters claimed the 2026 NRL premiership.
The 34-year-old, still regarded as the competition's leading No.1, is contracted to the Roosters through the end of 2027.
He hopes to extend his deal by one season, making 2028 his final year.
"There's no rush, I don't think I'll be chased by other teams for a contract - and I wouldn't really go anywhere else," Tedesco said.
He is among the players who can speak with rival clubs from November 1, when they become free agents.
"Ideally, if I can play 2027 and 2028, after that, I'd be pretty content."
Tedesco said he was pleased to keep earning opportunities to represent the Kangaroos, despite feeling his age as younger players came through.
