Taupau spared, May awaits MRC's judgment

Rugby League young gun, Taylan May, has dodged a bullet from the NRL's match review committee after a fiery clash against the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night.

The Penrith Panthers center found himself on report early in the game, courtesy of a fiery tackle on Reece Walsh.

The impact of the hit left Walsh with a facial fracture, casting doubt on his return timeline.

May, known for his tenacious style of play, seemed to have wrapped his arm around Walsh in an attempt to bring him down, but unfortunately, his head collided with Walsh's face.

Miraculously, May emerged unscathed from the collision, but faced an anxious wait for the match review committee's ruling.

In true sporting fashion, the verdict was delivered on Friday morning, clearing May of any wrongdoing.

The young center will not be fined or suspended, allowing him to continue his fearless play on the field.

As with any rough and tumble sport, incidents like these serve as a reminder of the inherent risks players face every time they step onto the field.

Here's hoping for a quick recovery for Reece Walsh, and a continued run of good fortune for Taylan May in the upcoming games.
