Tanah Boyd, a halfback for the New Zealand Warriors, will miss the rest of the season after injuring his right knee.
Scans revealed that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) following an incident during Sunday's Magic Round match against the Broncos.
The injury occurred just six minutes into the game, which the Warriors ultimately won 42-12.
Surgery details are yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been cleared to return after recovering from an AC shoulder injury he sustained in round nine against the Eels.
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who is dealing with a neck issue, still does not have a set return date.
Winger Haizyn Mellars (hamstring) and Rocco Berry (shoulder) are expected to be back in action next week.
