Daly Cherry-Evans will play his final NRL game before joining Hull FC.
At 24, Sam Walker will make his grand-final debut Sunday after the Roosters beat the Dolphins 36-20 in Friday's preliminary final.
Walker returned 27 days after a syndesmosis injury against the Dolphins in round 26, equalling the NRL recovery record alongside former Broncos playmaker Tristan Sailor.
He targeted the preliminary final as his return and used a hyperbaric chamber during his recovery.
Walker and the Roosters mutually delayed contract talks until the season ends. He becomes a free agent on November 1 and says he wants to stay.
His focus, he said, is winning the grand final.
"It's been an absolute honour to play alongside Sam Walker. I hope I have passed on some knowledge to him, but he'd be surprised at how much he's teaching me," Cherry-Evans said.
Walker said of Cherry-Evans: "We want to do him proud and send him off the right way."
