Sydney Roosters halfback Tarryn Aiken and her teammates will try to send retiring players Corban Baxter and Millie Elliott out with a win against Brisbane on Sunday.
The grand final also marks the final game for Broncos legend Ali Brigginshaw, whom Aiken said she respected after playing with and against her.
"There's obviously a lot of respect for Ali," Aiken said.
"I played a lot of footy with her and against her in the last few years, but we've got the own players that are going out as well in Millie and Corban."
"We obviously want to send them out on a high and on top."
Aiken returned from a right-knee ACL tear suffered on the eve of the 2025 finals, then scored late in last week's preliminary final to help secure the Roosters' third consecutive grand final appearance.
She missed last year's decider, when the Roosters lost 22-18 to Brisbane after utility Jocelyn Kelleher filled in alongside Baxter.
"I think career-wise, that was definitely the hardest part. Missing the finals last year, and then obviously the lengthy rehab as well," Aiken said.
Teammate Taina Naividi also tore an ACL the day before that final, and the pair rehabilitated together.
"I was much more nervous watching than I would have been playing," Aiken said.
"On grand final day, I just wanted to be there more for Taina."
Aiken, 27, has won premierships with Brisbane in 2019 and 2020 and the Roosters in 2024.
The Roosters enter Sunday as undefeated minor premiers and beat Brisbane 34-20 in round seven.
