After more than 365 days away from the field due to injuries, former Canterbury Bulldogs forward Ryan Sutton has made a notable comeback in rugby league.

Sutton, who has faced numerous injury challenges throughout his career, returned to the field on Sunday for the Ipswich Jets in the QLD Cup, following his release from the Bulldogs in March.

He made an impactful debut, starting in the front row and scoring a try despite the Jets' 30-22 loss to the Norths Devils.

Sutton signed with the Gold Coast Titans in May for the remainder of the season, aiming to secure a spot in the first-grade team by the end of the 2025 campaign.

Before joining the Bulldogs, he played four seasons with the Canberra Raiders from 2019 to 2022.

Sutton, also an England 9s international, moved to the Bulldogs with a hefty price tag of $550,000 per season but struggled to make a mark due to ongoing injuries.

During his two seasons at Belmore, he participated in only 13 NRL matches, spending most of his time sidelined by a hip or knee issue or competing in the NSW Cup.

Now, with his recent return, Sutton is eager to revive his career and make a lasting impact in the league.
