Panthers winger Sunia Turuva has been named the Dally M NRL Rookie of the Year, capping off a remarkable season for the young player.
Despite only featuring in three NRL games at the start of the season, Turuva quickly established himself as a key player for Ivan Cleary's side.
He has played a total of 25 games this year, showcasing his talent and potential.
Turuva's impressive performances on the World Cup stage for Fiji last year earned him a shot at the vacant No.
2 jersey when Taylan May suffered an ACL injury in February.
Since then, the 21-year-old has made a significant impact, scoring 12 tries and averaging 166 run metres per game.
He has also been a formidable force with over four tackle breaks per game.
This recognition makes Turuva only the second Panther to win the prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Greg Alexander who won it in 1984.
Alexander later went on to captain the club to its first premiership in 1991.
The other finalists for the Dally M Rookie of the Year award were Wests Tigers fullback Jahream Bula and Storm winger Will Warbrick.
Turuva's outstanding performances and contributions to his team's success have undoubtedly made him a deserving recipient of this prestigious accolade.
