NRL Snakes and Ladders: Storm and Roosters Take Big Slides Down the Board
The 2025 NRL season introduces an innovative approach where teams are ranked based on their weekly performances, using last year's final standings as a starting point.
This new ranking system will provide an alternative perspective on team progress rather than aligning strictly with the actual competition ladder.
The previous season's standings were as follows:
- Storm
- Panthers
- Roosters
- Sharks
- Cowboys
- Bulldogs
- Sea Eagles
- Knights
- Raiders
- Dolphins
- Dragons
- Broncos
- Warriors
- Titans
- Eels
- Rabbitohs
- Tigers
In a recent match, the Raiders triumphed over the Eels with a score of 40-16.
Canberra initially surged ahead with two quick tries in the opening minutes, scored by Jed Stuart and Zac Hosking.
However, the Eels rallied back, scoring three tries to take the lead before halftime.
After a motivating halftime talk from coach Ricky Stuart, the Raiders dominated the second half, scoring five unanswered tries.
Both Jed Stuart and Owen Pattie stood out with two tries each, complemented by Ethan Strange and Simi Sasagi contributing to the score.
In another match, the Panthers defeated the Rabbitohs 30-10 despite missing key players Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo.
They showcased a strong first half, scoring three tries to lead 18-0 at the break.
Although they conceded two tries to the Rabbitohs in the second half, the Panthers responded with two more of their own to widen the margin.
Young center Casey McLean impressed with a double, while Dylan Edwards also added two tries, demonstrating leadership in both offense and defense.
Through this fresh format, fans will witness how teams adapt and perform week-by-week, adding a unique twist to the traditional season standings.
