St George Illawarra release Kerr early

NRL 2025 | St. George Illawarra Dragons Top Tries of July

Josh Kerr returned to St George Illawarra in 2026 after spending two-and-a-half seasons with the Dolphins.

The Redcliffe junior made his NRL debut for the Dragons in Round 2, 2019, against South Sydney at Jubilee Stadium. Across two stints, he played 87 matches for the club.

Kerr, a proud Quandamooka man, debuted for the Indigenous All Stars in 2019 and represented the side seven times.

The Dragons have agreed to release Kerr from the final year of his contract. CEO Tim Watsford said, "Josh approached the club seeking an opportunity to secure a longer-term deal elsewhere, and we agreed to this request,"

Watsford added, "Josh has been a terrific clubman and a highly respected teammate throughout his two spells at the Dragons.

"We wish Josh and his family all the very best for the next chapter."
