The 2026 Rugby League World Cup starts on Thursday, 15 October.
Its Men's Final is set for Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday, 15 November.
France coach Laurent Frayssinous met South Sydney Rabbitohs back Latrell Siegwalt in Sydney earlier this year.
Frayssinous has named Siegwalt in France's 23-man squad for the tournament.
Siegwalt qualifies through his paternal grandfather, who lives in Walgett.
He will make his international debut at the World Cup.
