South Sydney Forward Given Release to Explore Market

A member of the South Sydney Rabbitohs forward pack has reportedly been granted permission from the club to explore his options on the open market.

In the last 24 months, the Rabbitohs have faced limited success, largely due to injuries affecting key players, resulting in challenges to field a fully fit lineup.

These injuries, while hindering their performance on the NRL ladder, have created opportunities for other players to excel.

One such player is Cook Islands international Davvy Moale, who is now likely to have played his final match in Rabbitohs colours.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Moale has been granted permission to engage with rival teams after his management submitted the request, positioning him to join a new club in 2026.

Sources indicate that Moale, who was originally contracted until the end of 2026, recently declined a two-year offer to stay with the club.

Since starting his career with the Rabbitohs in 2021, he has significantly improved his performance, appearing in 70 first-grade matches. However, he is currently sidelined due to a wrist injury sustained in July.
