Slater's Coaching Future Speculated at Storm

Speculation is swirling around the potential appointment of Melbourne Storm icon Billy Slater as the club's next head coach, following Craig Bellamy's tenure.

Since 2022, Slater has built an impressive coaching resume, including three series wins with the QLD Maroons.

With seven victories out of twelve games under his belt as the Maroons' coach, he is reportedly initiating talks regarding his long-term aspirations.

During a segment on Triple M's Beau, Cat & Woodsy, the hosts revealed that there are whispers suggesting that Storm officials have approached Slater about stepping into the role as Bellamy's successor.

"I'm hearing in recent weeks, Melbourne Storm officials have spoken with Billy Slater about taking over as head coach when Craig Bellamy decides to officially step away," an anonymous caller disclosed on Triple M.

Conversations among former NRL players Beau Ryan and Aaron Woods centered on the future direction of the club amidst the growing speculation.

"How long does Craig have left?" Ryan pondered.

Woods replied, "He just signed for two years at the start of the season." Ryan then added, "But there's been a lot that has unfolded in Craig's life over the last six months."
