Canberra's Simaima Taufa has been named the NRLW Dally M Captain of the Year.
Taufa, a marquee signing for the new franchise in 2023, took on the captaincy duties of the Raiders inaugural women's side.
Prior to this, she had led Parramatta in their first two seasons in the NRLW.
Taufa's leadership was instrumental in the team's impressive first season, during which they recorded five wins and four losses.
Unfortunately, they fell just two points short of clinching a top four spot at the end of the regular season.
Taufa, a 29-year-old Jillaroos representative, showcased her skills both on and off the field.
She averaged 146 run metres per game and made the second-highest number of tackles in the season, with 337.
Additionally, Taufa worked in operations and logistics at the club earlier in the season.
The other finalists for the NRLW Dally M Captain of the Year were Ali Brigginshaw from the Broncos and Georgia Hale, the skipper of the Titans.
