Shoulder injury proves frustrating for Nathan Cleary

Nathan Cleary has spilled the beans on his return from a troublesome shoulder injury, describing the 2024 NRL season as a real head-scratcher.

The Penrith Panthers playmaker didn't hold back after making a triumphant return in the recent showdown against the Sydney Roosters.

Cleary came out guns blazing, masterminding a flawless start for the Panthers as they stormed to a commanding 22-0 lead within the first 25 minutes.

He was like a conductor leading an orchestra, setting up his teammates perfectly and ultimately being awarded the player of the match for his efforts.

The boys from the foot of the mountains will now enjoy a well-deserved week off before facing yet another preliminary final.

Speaking about his shoulder, Cleary expressed his confidence leading up to the game but wasn't taking any chances.

After enduring a frustrating year of setbacks, including missing a chunk of playtime and the State of Origin series with a hamstring injury, the star halfback was relieved to finally get back into the swing of things.

"To be fair, I was pretty confident with the ol' shoulder.

I had put in the hard yards throughout the week.

Getting that early tackle in was a good feeling, knowing everything was still intact and diving straight into the match," Cleary revealed with a hint of relief in his voice.
