NRLW: Shire Sharks Secure Powerhouse Forward for Another Season

Vanessa Foliaki, a warrior of the Women's State of Origin battlefield for the NSW Sky Blues, has inked a deal to continue her crusade with the Cronulla Sharks NRLW squad.

After battling for the Sydney Roosters NRLW from 2018-20 and mounting a valiant charge with the Parramatta Eels NRLW in 2022, Foliaki made her mark in all 11 showdowns for the Sharks last season, culminating in a glorious clash in the 2024 NRL Grand Final against her former team, the Roosters.

Whether locking horns in the second-row or charging into battle from the interchange, Foliaki averaged an impressive 41 running metres per skirmish and executed 121 tackles with a staggering 95.3% success rate.

"It's more than just a contract to me.

Cronulla has become a second home during my time here, and I couldn't imagine donning any other jersey," remarked Foliaki.

Under the guidance of Coach Tony Herman, a master tactician on the NRLW battlefield, Foliaki is determined to continue her legacy with the Sharks and remain an integral part of the Shire's rugby league stronghold.
