The match kicked off explosively for the Sharks, with five-eighth Adrian Sandy scoring a try just two minutes in, following a penalty that gave them favorable field position.
Centre Nikora Williams converted, putting Cronulla ahead 6-0.
The Sharks quickly doubled their lead when prop Felix Faatili powered over after another penalty, making it 12-0 with Williams adding the conversion.
However, the Warriors responded with hooker Jeriko Filipi-Talisau scoring beside the posts in the 12th minute.
Halfback Jett Cleary converted the try, narrowing the gap to six points.

Just before half-time, Cronulla extended their lead to eight points with a penalty goal from Williams.
