Dragons coach Shane Flanagan has stirred the pot with some choice words directed at his former NRL club, the Cronulla Sharks.
Despite his claims that it's not personal, Flanagan couldn't resist taking a dig at the Sharks, where he carved out a place in history by guiding them to their first and only premiership in 2016, toppling the Melbourne Storm in a grand final showdown.
While Flanagan's coaching legacy will forever be tied to that championship win, he also faced controversy during his time at the Sharks due to the infamous supplements scandal.
This scandal led to Flanagan's suspension in 2013 and ultimately his deregistration as a coach in 2018.
After a hiatus from the game, Flanagan made his way back to the rugby league scene, first as an assistant with the Dragons and then with Manly, before taking the reins as head coach with St George Illawarra.
Despite a rough loss to the Roosters on Anzac Day, Flanagan wasted no time in shifting the focus to the Dragons' upcoming clash with the Sharks on May 5, injecting some extra spice into what is sure to be a heated showdown on the field.
