Manly Warringah Sea Eagles faced a 28-12 defeat against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium during Round 23 of the Telstra NRL Premiership.

The Sea Eagles started strong, with Tom Trbojevic scoring the opening points in just the third minute. This impressive play involved a risky move from inside Manly's 10-metre line, where Tolu Koula broke through the Raiders' right defense and kicked the ball infield for Trbojevic to complete the near length-of-the-field try.

Following this, the Sea Eagles maintained momentum, earning a repeat set shortly after. However, about ten minutes in, Jamal Fogarty helped the Raiders level the score at 6-6 by passing to Ethan Strange, who dashed inside Manly's right edge defenders after a penalty had advanced them downfield.

In a quick succession, the Raiders reclaimed the lead in the 15th minute, capitalizing on another penalty for a high tackle. Xavier Savage, positioned on the right wing, scored after a three-on-two play, putting the Raiders ahead 10-6, although the conversion from the sideline was unsuccessful.
