Samoan Forward Suffer Minor Injury Ahead of Kiwis Clash

Wests Tigers front-rower Terrell May has sustained a minor injury, which will keep him out of the first match of the 2025 Pacific Championships, scheduled for Sunday against New Zealand.

May was looking to build on a strong start to his 2025 season, marked by significant growth at the Tigers and a nomination for the Dally M Prop of the Year. However, he has encountered a small setback.

As reported by The Daily Telegraph, the forward has suffered a hamstring strain and will join his younger brother Taylan May on the sidelines, having returned to New South Wales to recover.

Though he will miss the match against the New Zealand Kiwis this Sunday, sources indicate that May is expected to rejoin the national team camp the following week, with a possibility of playing against Tonga.

The match schedule for the 2025 Pacific Championships has Samoa set to compete against Tonga on October 26, followed by a bye week the weekend after, when New Zealand and Tonga will face each other.
