After a grueling 15 seasons and 232 games in the rugby league arena, versatile player Kevin Naiqama has officially decided to hang up his boots, receiving a well-deserved tribute at the 2024 NRL Grand Final.
Naiqama, who last donned the NRL jersey in 2022, has traversed various teams throughout his career, including stints with the Newcastle Knights (2010-13), Penrith Panthers (2014), Wests Tigers (2015-18), St Helens RLFC (2019-21), Sydney Roosters (2022), and most recently the Huddersfield Giants (2023-24).
With a remarkable tally of 113 tries and 416 points to his name, Naiqama also represented Fiji in 24 international matches, following in the footsteps of his brother Wes Naiqama, a former NRL and Fiji outside back.
His illustrious career saw him hoist two Super League titles and a Challenge Cup with St Helens RLFC, cementing his legacy in the annals of rugby league history.
Hailing from Sutherland, New South Wales, the journeyman was rumored to make a triumphant return to the NRL before bidding farewell at the 2024 NRL Grand Final, where he joined the ranks of other retiring players in a poignant display of respect and admiration.
