The Sydney Roosters are about to say goodbye to a seasoned playmaker who has been a vital part of their premiership-winning squad.

According to reports from news.com.au, veteran star Luke Keary is set to hang up his boots and retire from the NRL.

The Daily Telegraph has revealed that the Roosters have organized a press conference this week to announce Keary's decision to call it a day at the end of the season.

Keary, aged 32, had recently signed a contract extension that would have kept him with the Roosters until 2025.

However, he has made the tough call to retire early.

Having won the 2014 premiership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and playing a crucial role in the Roosters' back-to-back triumphs in 2018 and 2019, Keary has certainly left his mark on the game.

Throughout his career, Keary has battled with concussions, suffering a total of five between January 2018 and May 2019.

Despite this, he has shown great resilience and determination on the field.

As Keary prepares to announce his retirement, fans and teammates will surely miss his on-field leadership and skill.

It's always tough to see a player of his caliber hang up the boots, but we wish Keary all the best in his future endeavors.
