Coach Trent Robinson and Roosters captain James Tedesco delivered a hard-hitting message following the team's significant loss to the Panthers.
"Get harder," was the stark reminder they aimed to echo throughout the club after suffering a 40-4 defeat on home turf.
The Roosters struggled defensively, facing an onslaught from the Panthers in the opening half. In a staggering 13-minute burst, Penrith tallied 22 points, effectively putting the match out of reach early on.
Tedesco reflected on the overwhelming nature of the Panthers' attack during the game.
"I feel like in periods we were on top, we made some line breaks and we were playing some good footy," Tedesco noted. "But they took advantage of a couple of individual errors or tackles straight away."
Despite the bleak outcome, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive outlook.
"You want to stay positive, but we've got to get harder in those periods, especially against top teams like that because they'll punish you," he added.
The Roosters will need to take this message to heart as they look to rebound from this harsh lesson in resilience.
