Roosters lose wings, Butcher in double injury heartache

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Sydney Roosters have been hit with a double injury blow, with winger Dominic Young and forward Nat Butcher both sidelined with injuries.

Young has a niggling hamstring issue in his right leg, while Butcher is nursing rib cartilage damage on his left side.

These injuries were sustained during a fiery battle against the Dolphins in Round 22, where the Roosters managed to secure a hard-fought six-point victory.

The battered Roosters have a bye this week, giving the players some much-needed time to recuperate, but it looks unlikely that either Young or Butcher will be fit to face off against the Parramatta Eels in Round 24.

Hamstring injuries are notorious for their unpredictable recovery timelines, often taking two to three weeks to heal, while rib cartilage issues can be a real headache to deal with.

The Roosters will have to dig deep and rely on their depth to cover for these key absences in the upcoming games.

Time will tell how they fare without these two integral players in their lineup.
