The Rugby League Players' Association has unveiled the nominees for the highly anticipated 2023 The Players' Champion award.

Each NRL team has put forward four players who are eligible for this prestigious accolade.

The winners of The Players' Champion award, which includes both NRL and NRLW players, will be revealed during Channel 9's Grand Final coverage on October 1.

This year's contenders list features some big names such as past recipients Nathan Cleary of the Penrith Panthers, Kalyn Ponga of the Newcastle Knights, and the three-time and current champion James Tedesco of the Sydney Roosters.

In addition to The Players' Champion award, other categories in the Players' Awards include Rookie of the Year, Dream Team, and the Dennis Tutty Award, which recognizes outstanding performances by both NRL and NRLW players.

Fans can look forward to the announcement of the 40 contenders from the NRLW competition on September 12.
