Jamal Shibasaki, a rising star in the North Queensland Cowboys lineup, recently shared his thoughts on his NRL debut earlier this season against the Sydney Roosters in Round 13.
Hailing from a family with a strong NRL presence, with his brother Gehamat Shibasaki already making waves in the league, Jamal joined the Cowboys squad this season and quickly made his mark on the field.
Stepping onto the field from the interchange bench, Shibasaki faced a challenge with some key teammates unavailable due to injuries or State of Origin duties.
However, he rose to the occasion and showcased his skills, making ten solid tackles and covering 47 running metres.
Despite only playing for 19 minutes, the U19s QLD representative proved that he has what it takes to become a seasoned first-grader, switching between the second-row and front-row positions for the Mackay Cutters in the QLD Cup.
Starting his career in the Brisbane Broncos system, Shibasaki seized the opportunity to join the North Queensland Cowboys and hasn't looked back since.
With a 100% winning record in his NRL appearances so far, he is determined to carve out his own legacy in the league and continue the family tradition of success on the field.
