The Canberra Raiders have made a significant off-season acquisition by signing one of the NRL's top utilities.
On Tuesday, the club announced that versatile back Daine Laurie has joined on a three-year contract starting with the 2026 NRL season.
Laurie's tenure with the Raiders will extend until the conclusion of the 2028 season, bringing valuable experience and depth to the team following 76 first-grade games with the Penrith Panthers and the Wests Tigers.
With the ability to play various positions in the backline, Laurie's addition enhances Canberra's options in the outside backs as they continue to rebuild under coach Ricky Stuart.
"I'm really excited to rip in and connect with the boys in pre-season," Laurie expressed.
"I'm looking forward to making new friendships, and it's been great to receive some security for me and my family."
The North Coast native is prepared for this new challenge after spending a decade in Sydney.
