In a strategic move for the 2027 season, the Canberra Raiders have reportedly secured Jaiyden Hunt from the Brisbane Broncos.
The 28-year-old forward has inked a two-year deal worth approximately $350,000, as coach Ricky Stuart revamps his team.
Hunt, who spent the previous three seasons with Brisbane, returned to the club in 2024 after an earlier tenure with St George Illawarra.
The Broncos are undergoing significant changes following a disastrous season, which saw them fall from champions to 15th on the ladder.
Key players like Payne Haas, Gehamat Shibasaki, and retired halfback Adam Reynolds have confirmed their departures, increasing the pressure on incoming coach Michael Maguire.
Hunt, who can play both in the middle and on the edges, has often served as a depth player for Brisbane but has been relied upon amid injuries and representative call-ups.
Canberra's need for reinforcement is heightened by the retirement of veteran Josh Papalii and the departures of Corey Horsburgh and Morgan Smithies to the Perth Bears.
In addition to Hunt, the Raiders have acquired Bulldogs player Lipoi Hopoi, though an ACL injury will postpone his integration into the team.
While Hunt may not be a marquee signing, his experience and adaptability will bolster Canberra's roster as it undergoes considerable transformation heading into 2027.
