Daly Cherry-Evans' anticipated transfer to the Sydney Roosters, which has been widely speculated in the NRL, is likely to trigger the exit of one of the team's promising talents.

Sandon Smith is expected to make room for the former State of Origin captain, meaning he will be looking for a new team in 2026.

Despite making a favorable impression during his time in the Roosters' NRL squad, he has struggled to secure a consistent starting position.

Journalist Michael Chammas pointed out that "options were limited" for Smith on Nine's 100% Footy, indicating that he will likely need to compete for places at a different club.

One potential destination for him is the Canberra Raiders, who are currently engaged in discussions with Smith.

"He's been in conversations with the Raiders," Chammas revealed.
