Daly Cherry-Evans kicked the field goal that secured the Sydney Roosters a 19-18 victory over the Newcastle Knights in the 2026 grand final.
The match-winning kick fulfilled the purpose for which the Roosters brought him to the club.
James Tedesco was named Player of the Match and received his first Clive Churchill Medal after a standout performance.
He made 385 metres, including 170 from kick returns, and recorded 14 tackle breaks, a try assist and a line-break assist.
The award followed two earlier Roosters grand final appearances, in 2018 and 2019.
Forward Naufahu Whyte also impressed, helping set the tone as the Roosters pack gained the upper hand in the second half.
The Knights showed courage but could not stay with their opponents.
The victory gives the Roosters 16 first-grade premierships; their NRLW side also won its title earlier that day.
