Rabbitohs' stadium dreams tackle a government roadblock

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have faced a setback as the NSW State Government announced that the club will not be able to return to Moore Park on a full-time basis.

Despite the Rabbitohs' ongoing push to return to the Sydney Football Stadium since its reopening, renovation plans for Homebush that were supposed to enhance the venue have stalled.

The Sydney Roosters, along with other tenants like the NSW Waratahs and Sydney FC, have consistently voiced their opposition to a full-time Rabbitohs return to Moore Park, where the Rabbitohs historically played their home games.

Recent reports from News Corp disclose the State Government's decision, indicating that the Rabbitohs will be permitted to play only two to three games at the Football Stadium each season, rather than a full-time schedule.

This decision follows discussions between the Rabbitohs and the State Government, during which the Rabbitohs supported a petition advocating for their move back to Moore Park.
