Rabbitohs' Inconsistency Haunts Season Again

The South Sydney Rabbitohs' recent struggles have once again come to light, as coach Wayne Bennett offered a straightforward critique following their 32-10 loss to the Dolphins during Magic Round on Friday night.

The Rabbitohs delivered another inconsistent showing, racking up 15 errors and giving away five penalties. The Dolphins, while also flawed, committed 13 errors and conceded four penalties.

Throughout this disjointed match, Souths failed to manage the Dolphins' momentum at critical junctures, raising concerns about their defensive setup.

This defeat adds to the mounting frustrations for South Sydney this season, where every victory seems to be followed by a loss. Bennett was quick to recognize this troubling pattern during his post-match remarks, highlighting his team's struggle for consistent performance.

"We've had three really good wins and next week we've turned up and played rubbish," Bennett stated in the post-match press conference.

He added, "It's worse than frustrating. It just kind of gets to the embarrassing stage because there is no logic to why they're doing it except what's probably happening in their heads through the week, happy with themselves, I don't know.

"It's an obvious trend right now, so we've got to get on top of it."

Captaining the team, Cameron Murray echoed Bennett's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and focus week to week as a means to break free from the cycle of inconsistency.

"If you spend too much time thinking about it, you're probably not thinking about what you need to think about, which is the next week and being consistent the next week," he remarked.
