The future of South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Thomas Fletcher has been uncertain in recent months. Nevertheless, the second-rower has now officially signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

"I've been a Rabbitohs fan since I was kid so to be able to represent the Club, the members and the fans is a dream come true for me. It played a big part in me making my decision to stay at Souths," Fletcher told the club's website.

He expressed his gratitude, stating, "I want to thank the Members and fans for being so supportive, as well as my family, my teammates, coaches and the staff at the Club."

Fletcher made his NRL debut this season, participating in four matches. His performance in the final game against the St George Illawarra Dragons stood out, as he scored a try, assisted another, and ran for over 100 meters.

Mark Ellison, the Rabbitohs' Head of Recruitment and Retention, expressed satisfaction in securing not just a talented player but also a devoted fan of the club. "Thomas is a rising player in the ranks who has come through the grades at South Sydney to represent the Club in the NRL," Ellison noted in a statement to the club's website.
