The QRL has announced that Ben Ikin will resign from his position as CEO, with his departure set for the end of July.
Ikin, who has served in this capacity for nearly three years, has played a crucial role in the management of the Maroons during his tenure and will complete this year's State of Origin series before he exits.
A strong advocate for coach Billy Slater, Ikin has also worked on enhancing the game throughout Queensland.
The QRL revealed that Ikin has accepted a position in a different industry, and QRL Chairman Brian Canavan has expressed his appreciation for Ikin's contributions to Queensland Rugby League.
"Ben's leadership has placed the QRL in a very strong position in the sporting landscape and the on-going strategies and programs are well advanced," Canavan stated.
At 49 years old, Ikin has an impressive background, having played 150 games and representing Queensland 17 times from 1995 to 2003.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the QRL," Ikin remarked.
"I've met so many great people and created some incredible memories, I leave feeling very grateful."
Under Ikin's leadership, Queensland has achieved victory in two of the three State of Origin series during his time as CEO.
