The inaugural board members of Papua New Guinea's new NRL franchise have been announced, featuring notable figures from rugby league.

Ray Dib, a former official with the Canterbury Bulldogs, is appointed as the Chairman.

Dib has a significant history in the sport, having served as the Bulldogs' Chairman for eight years, where he was instrumental in leading the club to two Grand Finals before leaving in 2018.

Joining Dib on the board are Lorna McPherson, Richard Pegum, Stan Joyce, Wapu Sonk, and Ian Tarutia.

Additionally, twelve-time Papua New Guinea international Marcus Bai has been selected as a board member.

Bai is recognized as one of the pioneering NRL players from PNG, with a notable career that includes 144 matches for the Melbourne Storm from 1998 to 2003.

He made history by becoming the first player to win the World Club Challenge with three different clubs and also secured a premiership with the Storm in 1999.
