Perth Bears Secure Promising Young Talent

The Perth Bears are taking significant steps towards their future by officially bringing in up-and-coming playmaker Jasais Ah Kee on a three-year pathway deal that starts in 2027.

This news was revealed on Friday morning, clarifying that the 18-year-old will initially join the Bears on a Train and Trial contract in 2027, transition to the Development List in 2028, and ultimately secure a position in the Top 30 squad in 2029.

Currently aligned with the St George Illawarra Dragons, Ah Kee is celebrated as one of the most promising young halves emerging from the junior leagues.

Known for his versatility as both halfback and five-eighth, the Western Sydney talent becomes yet another exciting addition to the NRL's newest franchise.

This signing signifies a crucial element in the Bears' long-term roster strategy as the organization is focused on identifying and securing young players who are expected to make significant contributions in the years ahead.

Bears coach Mal Meninga expressed enthusiasm over acquiring Ah Kee's signature and sees immense potential in the young athlete for the club's future.

"Jasais is one of the most skilled young halves in the game, and we are absolutely thrilled he has decided to sign with the Perth Bears," Head Coach Mal Meninga stated.

"We have locked in some exciting prospects now that will be the cornerstone for the Bears for many years to come."

"Mason Barber, Apa Twidle and Jasais can help us build the foundations for something very special. I'm delighted they believe in the vision and look forward to working with them all next season."

The Patrician Brother's schoolboy noted that the chance to join the Bears and further his development under Meninga and his staff played a crucial role in his decision-making process.
