Perth appointed Gareth Holmes head of football after David Sharpe's brief stint in the role.

Reports since the Bears' election describe an 'uneasy' relationship between Mal Meninga and Ben Gardiner.

News Corp reports CEO Anthony De Ceglie has lost board support and has three months to convince the board and ARLC, or be replaced.

Some want him out immediately, but Peter V'landys has given him time as Perth nears its first NRL game.

The constitution gives the ARLC ownership and sole approval over the CEO, head coach and head of football; the board cannot appoint them.

De Ceglie became CEO in May 2025 after editorial roles at Seven West Media and The West Australian.

Perth has 27 players signed for 2027, three roster spots open, and has been linked with Rabbitohs Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.

The club reportedly hopes to offer Mitchell $1.7 million per season from November 1.

Meninga said salary-cap limits ruled out 2027 target AJ Brimson of the Gold Coast Titans.
