Brisbane Broncos powerhouse Payne Haas has dropped a bombshell, hinting at a potential switch of international allegiances from the Kangaroos to Samoa.

The front-rower, who has donned the green and gold jersey in four Test matches, was on track to represent Australia in the Pacific Championships until a pesky foot injury threw a spanner in the works.

Now, Haas is contemplating following in the footsteps of his counterparts like Jarome Luai, Brian To'o, and Stephen Crichton in making the switch to play for Samoa.

Reports suggest that Samoa's coach Ben Gardiner is optimistic about securing Haas' services as early as the upcoming tour to England, where the Poms emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle.

Despite his injury setback, Haas remains coy about his final decision, teasing, "I haven't made up my mind yet.

But rest assured, when I do, you'll be the first to know." The young gun went on to express his deep connection to his Samoan heritage, acknowledging the pride he feels watching Samoa excel on the global rugby league stage.

However, the final call on his representative future still hangs in the balance.
