Brisbane Broncos add two outside backs

NRL fan survey's staggering reveal about support for Brisbane Broncos amid club's dramas

Wilson De Courcey scored 18 tries and averaged 130 metres per game in the NSW Cup during 2026, earning a two-year place in Brisbane's top 30.

The Newcastle Knights centre made his NRL debut in Round 5 that season and joins the Broncos alongside Parramatta Eels outside back Richard Penisini.

Penisini, younger brother of Eels centre Will, will arrive on a development deal for 2027 after injuries disrupted his progress, though he has impressed in the NSW Cup when fit.

Broncos general manager of football Troy Thomson said, "Wilson gives us another quality option in the outside backs and will provide strong competition within the squad."

Thomson said of Penisini, "Richie is another talented young outside back who has gained valuable experience playing NSW Cup,"

"He has shown a lot of potential, has good physical attributes and a strong work ethic.

"He is now back to full fitness and we're looking forward to seeing what he can produce through the pre-season and into 2027."

Development players can play from Round 1 under current NRL rules.

Will Penisini is officially off-contract at Parramatta at the end of 2026, but reports suggest he is expected to stay.
