'Pull their socks up': Glaring issue in the rest of the NRL could pave the way for a Panthers five-peat

The Penrith Panthers clinched their fourth consecutive premiership on Sunday, and one rugby league legend is confident that Ivan Cleary's unstoppable force isn't slowing down, with a fifth title within reach.

Facing off against Craig Bellamy's formidable Melbourne team, the Panthers emerged victorious with a 14-6 win at Accor Stadium.

This victory marked the first time in sixty years that a team has secured four consecutive premierships, with the last team to achieve this feat being the iconic St George outfit who dominated with eleven straight wins from 1956 to 1966.

Could the Panthers make it five in a row in 2025? Gorden Tallis certainly thinks so.

"When teams achieved back-to-back wins, it was considered a rare accomplishment and they were held in high regard.

But when they managed to secure three consecutive victories, many doubted their ability to clinch a fourth," Tallis remarked.
