Penrith's salary-cap pressure could contribute to Blaize Talagi leaving the club after the 2026 season, although no rival offer is confirmed.
Talagi remains contracted through next year, but journalist Michael Carayannis said clubs could pursue him.
"He may not play again for them potentially," Carayannis said on NRL 360.
The five-eighth arrived from Parramatta at the end of 2024 after debuting for the Eels.
He was expected to succeed Jarome Luai, but struggled to establish himself and was dropped late in 2026 for Jack Cogger and Jack Cole.
Talagi returned at centre against the Sydney Roosters in the qualifying final, where coach Ivan Cleary noted his strongest recent performances have come in that position.
"Since Jarome left a couple of years ago, we're still trying to find a permanent replacement," Cleary said on SEN Radio.
"Blaize's best two games have been at centre lately. One thing about Blaize is he's not afraid of the big occasion, and I think he's awesome. He did what we wanted him to do."
Carayannis said Paul Alamoti's return and Cogger's availability could push Talagi out of Penrith's lineup.
"He's off-contract at the end of next year so clubs will be circling and if rival clubs comes knocking next year I don't think Penrith stand in his way."
