Tevita Pangai Junior is on the brink of making a surprising comeback to the Super League following a brief period in rugby union.
According to Love Rugby League, discussions are ongoing with several clubs eager to acquire his talents.
After a tumultuous exit from the Catalans Dragons, Pangai Junior had initially reached an agreement with the Warrington Wolves, intending to collaborate closely with head coach and NRL icon Sam Burgess for the upcoming 2026 season.
"I'm excited to work with Sam Burgess," Pangai Jr expressed to The Daily Telegraph last year.
"He's a big reason why I'm going there."
However, the arrangement fell through when Pangai Junior decided against joining Warrington, prompting the club to release a statement addressing the situation.
"Tevita Pangai Jr has recently informed the club of his decision not to join for the 2026 season."
"While we are disappointed, the club accepts his decision, as we remain committed to building a squad of players who are fully invested in the club and its ambitions."
"We wish Tevita the very best in his future endeavours."
Following brief stints in amateur union leagues in southern France with SC Leucate, as well as trials for Biarritz in a secondary French division, Pangai Junior has re-evaluated his choices and is now eager to return to rugby league.
