NSW Players Seek Redemption in Origin Series

Dylan Edwards and Brian To'o are determined to seize their opportunities in this year's State of Origin series, motivated by the desire for redemption following last year's defeat to the Queensland Maroons.

Edwards expressed a candid perspective on the selection battle for the NSW squad ahead of the first game.

As his name frequently emerges in discussions regarding the Blues' fullback position, Edwards shared his current mindset.

"I don't think about retaining the jersey, it's there up for grabs every year," he stated.

At the beginning of this season, Blues coach Laurie Daley delivered a straightforward message to the team.

"Laurie sat everybody down and said whoever is playing their best footy will get a nod for the jersey," he noted.

For Edwards, this approach reinforces the importance of focusing on club performances.

"What will be will be, my focus is playing here week in week out," he added.

When discussing the impressive form of Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco, who has excelled in the early rounds, Edwards maintained a balanced viewpoint.
