In a heartbreaking defeat, the Wests Tigers have lost 20-16 to the St George-Illawarra Dragons in a nail-biting match at CommBank Stadium.

The Tigers got off to a strong start, capitalizing on a six-again call near the try line, with Ebony Prior exploiting the lazy marker defense and scoring the first try.

Shortly after, Rikeya Horne finished off a well-executed right-edge movement to extend the Tigers' lead.

However, the Dragons continued to apply pressure, and the Tigers eventually succumbed as the Dragons created an overlap on the left edge, allowing Bobbi Law to score.

Jakiya Whitfeld showcased her blistering pace, advancing the Tigers downfield and setting up the dynamic duo of Emily Curtain and Apps.

Curtain delivered a perfectly timed short pass to Apps, who continued her impressive four-game try-scoring streak, increasing the Tigers' lead to 16-6 at halftime.

Despite facing adversity in the second half when Najvada George was sin-binned, the Tigers displayed remarkable defensive resilience.

However, their efforts were in vain as the Dragons managed to score two late tries, securing a last-minute victory.
